Bodegas Mozaga
Operated by Montaña Clara S.A. and rooted in the hamlet of Mozaga that gives it its name, this bodega lies on the Arrecife–Tinajo road at the geographical centre of Lanzarote.
Independent listings trace continuous production back to 1880, making it one of the oldest active wineries on the island, though the present company was incorporated in 1973 and modernised again after a change of ownership in the mid-2000s. Twenty-five hectares of vines grown directly on volcanic lapilli supply Malvasía Volcánica, Diego, Moscatel de Alejandría and Listán Negro. The flagship is the Moscatel Solera 1975, a fortified sweet wine drawn each year from a solera laid down half a century ago and released in small numbers. The Mozaga range otherwise spans dry, semi-dry and sweet Malvasías alongside a young Diego, a Listán Negro rosado, and a young red. The bodega does not currently run a public visitor programme, and bottles are sold through Lanzarote retailers and a handful of mainland importers.
