Bodegas Rubicón

Bodegas Rubicón works one of La Geria's oldest properties: a cortijo — fortified farmstead — documented as far back as 1570, when its sale was recorded between island grandees.

The estate was buried during the Timanfaya eruptions of 1730–1736, then dug back out and replanted as vineyard across the eighteenth century, when La Geria became the heart of Lanzarote's wine production. The current bodega traces to 1979, when Germán López Figueras bought the dormant property from the Fajardo-Spínola family and reopened it to the public. The 1698 ermita de La Caridad still stands inside the walls, alongside a casa señorial that today houses a restaurant looking out across the zocos. Wines run from a bone-dry Malvasía Volcánica to a much-medalled Moscatel de Alejandría; the Amalia Tinto de Autor blends Listán Negro with old-vineyard rarities like Tintilla and Tinta Conejera.
